Best Of..

 Portraits.

  This is the best of my portraits because I love the coloring I chose for this picture and how clear all her facial features are.

 Action.

  I believe this is my best action shot because it isn't blurry or faded and that is hard to do in an action shot when your subjects are moving.

 Contrast.

  I love this picture for it's contrast and dark colors and how well they go together.

 Assignments.

  This was my favorite assignment because it involved more work and to think outside the box! Plus I got to use my creativity to come up with a band name and pictures that I thought fit really nicely!

 Abandoned. 

  This is my favorite abandoned photo because of the antiqueness to it. You can't much more abandoned than this..

  This is my favorite exposure because of the darks and lights in it. I love how you can see the steering wheel in the front of the bus!!

Boys Basket Ball. - Open Themed.

  I like this picture because of the color contrast in it. In editing I made the other players more blurry to focus on the main subject more.

   I like using sepia in sports shots and even more so in this case because it shows the main subject better since he is wearing a white uniform and the rest are in darker ones. I also like how the ball is in the shot as well.

   I love the bright colors in this photograph and how I caught this at the last second of the shot.

Vintage Mind: New Wave Rock Band Cd Cover.

  For this assignment I received the genre "New Wave" and through research I found out that it was more of a rock kind of sound. In order to keep the rockish look to the album I chose to use my electric guitar but an album of a new wave band I found had an acoustic guitar as well. I had my friends dress in darker colors and of course had to have the leather gloves! The title of the album is "Pieces of Me" so I chose to portray literally pieces of the band on the front cover, which consisted of close ups of just the instrument and small portions of the band member just to personalize it with their personalities. On the middle and back covers I used my tripod in order to take the pictures. I also took these pictures at night to give them a darker look. Even though I wanted to have a rock look to the band I tried to show my as well as my friends vintage style by using a vintage flair to our clothes and using tans and brown I think I showed the "Vintage Mind" part of the band. All in all the covers turned out wonderful in my mind.

Self Portrait.

  For this picture I was standing out side when it was dark out. Some times when I take self portraits I turn the camera upside down to get a different angle of flash. I used a pinkish tint to highlight the picture's colors.

Pattern.

  I took this picture because I liked the rustic colors of the flower. Even though it is already painted with bright colors I boosted them coloring anyway but then turned down the temperature to add to the rustic look. I think the picture has more character now.

The Light of Hope.

  I like this picture because it's symbolic of hope. I gave it a darkened affect to show how hope can light the way in darkness.

Fly Away.

  I took this picture of the bird just as it was getting ready for take off. This was about a week ago in my back yard and hadn't know what theme I could of put it in so I threw it in this one seeing how its opened themed.

Professionals.

Michael Kenna

  I love this photographer because we can relate in a lot of the ways we take our photos. All of the photos I've found by the photographer were in black and white, sometimes I have a tendency of making the majority of my pictures in b&w because I think it adds so much more effect to the pictures emotion then color. A perfect example of the is the picture about. The foggy air and leading lines of the railroad track wouldn't be as powerful as a colored photo.

Sean Michael Mcintyre

    Another photo that I loved by a photographer, but this one is more symbolic then emotional. The women in the desk is sitting in an abandoned building praying, the name of this photo is "penance". I can relate to this photographer because I have taken pictures exactly like this one in a old amish church building I found near my house. I love to take pictures like this so looking through his pictures meant a lot to me, seeing that the kinds of pictures I like are out there from others like me is pretty inspiring.

Texture.

   This photo is of my car with the morning frost on it. I chose this picture as texture because I like how there is a rough layer of ice on top of a glossy car hood. The layer of ice makes this picture because without it, it would be boring.

   I like the texture of different kinds of bark on this small tree branch I found laying in the woods. I think the bright yellow color on it changes the photo and adds characteristics to it.

   A favorite of mine from this photo shoot, is a picture I took of an old van's back window. I took it at this angle so you could see the steering wheel at the front of the van at a distance. I like the color contrast of the pealing red paint and the blueish color the broken window is giving off.

  Lastly, I took this picture of an old rusted wheel on the side of a concrete mixer. I like the contrast of the dark colored wheel and the mixer, the rust on the two are different.

Abandoned.

   This was a house I found out side of town by Living Well that I have taken pictures of before but thought it was a good place to go back to because of the abandoned theme. I chose to make this a black and white photo because it gives it a spookier feeling with the beaten down house with leafless trees.

   I took this picture from inside the previous house. This tub like object reminds me of something farmers have their animals drink out of. I liked how it was placed in the house with everything falling down around it.

   For this picture I chose to keep colored because I love the bright red of this broken down van that's parked out in the middle of no where. I like the rust of the van and the way the paint it pealing off, the broken window also adds a lot.

   This is another old building I found that is made out of stone. I found this as a child in the woods near my house and love the way it looks and have taken many pictures of this but have never really found out what it used to be. I chose to make this another black and white because when I think of "abandoned" I think of old, antique, like the way black and white makes it look.

  Here is a picture of the inside of the building. I love how the ceiling is dripping with water from the previous snowfall and the way there is holes in the walls. The leaves that have fallen in from the hole in the roof add more to the picture I think too.

Cheer&Stunt.

I chose to do an extra post for the pictures I took for the UWEC Cheer&Stunt Team. I like these photos because action shots like these are hard to do but being able to caputre back tucks, Cupies, Libs, and just awesome facial expressions really makes me enjoy these pictures ten times more.

Re-edit.

Weeds

  For this picture I decided to to make the contrast a little stronger and make the shadows pop out more. I think it gives this picture a more defined looked and I love this brights colors the sunset leaves in the background on the water behind the plants that are sticking out of the water.

Sunset

   I love the rolling sand in this picture and think the darker contrast makes the pictures look a lot better.

Leaves

  When I first edited this picture I liked how the black and white looked better; however, I never really saw how it looked with the colors boosted. I took this photo because I liked the one green leaf among all the yellow leaves. So when I went back through all my pictures I decided that I rather have the picture in color to portray the reason behind taking the picture,  even though it works both ways.

 For this assignment I decided to photoshop my lips and eyes onto my dog. Obviously it doesn't look really but it sure does make me laugh. I have never pictures animals with human characteristics before.. this assignment was for sure a fun one to do.

Everything Changes

 Morning

  For this assignment I chose to take a picture of Lake Arbutus. This was a photo I took in the morning right as the run started to come up. As you can see the steam from the lake is rising above the water which I think makes this photograph.

Late Afternoon

  For this photo, I took it in the exact same place as I did for the morning shot. As you can see during the day there is nothing interesting about this picture. Neutral colors, boring image and nothing really to look at.

Sunset

  At the end of the day I decided to take this picture of the exact same spot of the lake but not from the same spot. I went over to the West park and took this shot the sunset. I love the lighting in this picture but I also love the rolls of the sand on the beach.
