Best Of.

Girls' Volleyball
I chose to make this one of my best of photos because I love the weird angle, bright colors and just the uniqueness of it.
 Curls and Shadows
This has been a favorite of mine for awhile now. I took this self portrait in a dark room with only a lamp on to have a slight bit of light. I chose to do a strong profile with the shadows of my fingers to frame my face. This would just be a simple picture without the shadows.
Dock to Heaven
This is a recent favorite of mine. The peacefulness of this photograph is overwhelming. The reflection of the water is breath taking to me and the bright colors peeking through the horizon is wonderfully placed.
 Simple Sepia
I took this photo at the beginning of the year of a friend of mine near a mini dam in Black River Falls. The antique look is one of my favorites and I have not been able to get this perfect color since this photograph. The waterfall is so smooth and clear as the rest of the photo. For sure a favorite of mine.
Colors of the Fall
This is another personal favorite. This beautiful bridge is one of my favorite places to take pictures. The brilliant colors and clear reflection make this a wonderful photo. I also love the specks of white in the water and the way the clouds sit on top of the trees.

Patterns.

For this photo, I took a picture of the flowers and how each has the same pattern. I gave it more of a sepia color so the pattern would stand out more. I love the look of the petals and how I captured the side of the flowers stem to give you a different point of view.
Aperture: f/5.6, Focal Length: 250 mm, ISO: 640, Flash: None

This is a more obvious pattern with the smilies. The blanket that has this pattern is very colorful and bright, this is why I changed it to a black and white photograph because I didn't want the color to take away too much attention.
Aperture: f/5.0, Focal Length: 21 mm, ISO: 200, Flash: None

For this photo, I liked the pattern of the sidewalk but I needed a subject so I chose to put my dog in the mix. The lines in between the bricks make a good pattern but the colors of his fur do also.
Aperture: f/7.1, Focal Length: 18 mm, ISO: 200, Flash: None

I chose to create my own pattern for this picture. I save all the caps to my Starbucks drinks and thought that putting them together would be a good pattern picture. In attempt to give the picture more character I placed all of the caps in a row and all going the same way, except one. That one cap that is upside down is placed in the middle to help make it more noticeable.
Aperture: f/3.5, Focal Length: 18 mm, ISO: 400, Flash: Yes

One of my favorite things of having chickens is taking pictures of their facial expressions. His feathers have a pattern of colors between white, red, and black.
Aperture: f/5.6, Focal Length: 250 mm, ISO: 500, Flash: None

Replace a Sky.

Before

After

The assignment was to replace a sky out of one picture and into another. I love the sky in the after picture and even though these pictures were taken at completely different times of the day, they work together.

Composition Edit

For this assignment we were supposed to take pictures for lines and put them in a collage format so I took my previous pictures and put them on a single sheet in photoshop.

Right Down the Line.

In this photograph, is a straight line of wooden poles that are sticking out of the ground near the Hatfield Flea Market area. I took this photo at an angle so you could see the line more clearly.
Shutter Speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/5.6, ISO: 400, Focal Length: 46 mm, Flash: On

Here is another picture in the Flea Market grounds. I liked the way the shadows of the trees make a diagonal line through the woods. I made this picture black and white in order to keep focus on the lines and not the bright colored ground covered in orange pine needles.
Shutter Speed: 1/125, Aperture: f/7.1, ISO: 200, Focal Length: 18 mm, Flash: None

Another picture from the Hatfield area, but this time this was taken from the other side of the dam's railroad tracks. I love the bright sky that's filled with clouds, the shadow forming off the sides of the tracks and the way the lines lead your eye right through the picture.
Shutter Speed: 1/200, Aperture: f/9.0, ISO: 200, Focal Length: 18 mm, Flash: None
A great example, I thought, of curved lines. I took this picture because I couldn't imagine a curvier line!
Shutter Speed: 1/100, Aperture: f/5.6, ISO: 200, Focal Length: 18 mm, Flash: None
Here is an example of almost every line. There are curved, diagonal, horizontal, vertical and the curve of the bars lead your line in a zig-zag throughout the picture.
Shutter Speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/5.6 ISO: 200, Focal Length: 188 mm, Flash: None

Fall Color.

Even though the assignment was to take pictures of color, I chose to make this picture black and white. I did so because in this part of the woods all the leaves were yellow and I decided that this picture looked better with the black and white effect, it also shows the ripples of the water better.
Shutter Speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/4.5, ISO: 400, Focal length: 84 mm, Flash: On

I chose to take this picture because I like the contrast of colors in the trees and the reflection off the water shows the top of the trees even though they are cut off in the actual image. I liked how it looks like the clouds are resting on the tops of the trees.
Shutter Speed: 1/200, Aperture: f/4.5, ISO: 100, Focal Length: 55 mm, Flash: None

Here is another picture that I took because of the different colors. I like how the reflection colors the water all the way to the edge of the picture even through the rocks. I also like the dark rocks in the picture because there is so much color that the darkness helps balance the photo.
Shutter Speed: 1/100, Aperture: f/4.0, ISO: 100, Focal Length: 65 mm, Flash: None

In this photograph is a friend of mine walking along side a path lined with colorful leafs. I took this picture because there was so much yellow surrounding her, I liked how her bright red shirt stood out.
Shutter Speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/4.0, ISO: 400, Focal Length: 55 mm, Flash: On

I took this photo because I liked the way the green and red colors were a background to the tiny yellow leaves. I have one full focused leave on the side of the picture with a bunch of others slightly burred out. I like the twigs weaving in and out of the picture also.
Shutter Speed: 1/160, Aperture: f/5.6, ISO: 800,  Focal Length: 250 mm, Flash: None

Here is a picture of a plant I liked because of the way the leaves were hanging from it's branch. The bright orange stands out really nicely after boosting the colors a bit and the darker background helps the brightness of the leaves.
Shutter Speed: 1/250, Aperture: f/5.6, ISO: 640, Focal Length: 225 mm, Flash: None.

Young Again.

No matter how old you think you are there's nothing like spending the day on the play ground blowing bubbles and swinging.

I like this picture because it's not a regular smile and pose for the camera kind of shot. I also like how the bubbles are over her face and dripping from the wand. I took this at a lower angle so I could be more under the bubbles.
Shutter Speed: 1/800, Aperture: f/7.1, ISO: 400, Focal Length: 55 mm, Flash: None

Another great photo that I caught from a lower angle of a swinger. I like this picture not only because of her expression but because I was able to get her from head to toe and still have a well angled picture.
Shutter Speed: 1/500, Aperture: f/6.3, ISO: 400, Focal Length: 41 mm, Flash: None

Here is another favorite of mine just because I like the shadow that is casted of the fence onto her face. I think the shadow adds a nice effect to the picture and the black and white with a sepia tint adds to that effect also. This is another photo I chose to take from a lower angle.
Shutter Speed: 1/200,  Aperture: f/11.0, ISO: 200, Focal Length: 46 mm, Flash: None
I like this picture because of the bright colors in it. My favorite part about this photograph is probably the way the bubble catches her earring and magnifies it. Normally people don't like sun spots in their photos but I like the one in this picture because it brightens the effect and I think fits well.
Shutter Speed: 1/125, Aperture: f/9.0, ISO: 200, Focal Length: 55 mm, Flash: None
Another brightly colored picture with the same subject as before. Again there is a dark shadow on the side of her face that is a nice quality to the picture. I love the brightness of her headband in side the dark corner of the picture. I also like how you can see the soap running down her hand while the bubbles come out.
Shutter Speed: 1/200, Aperture: f/10.0, ISO: 200, Focal Length: 55 mm, Flash: None

Fall Nature.

At the very start of every Fall you see pumpkins every where. I took this photo because I feel like pumpkins are a part of Fall.
Shutter Speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/5, ISO: 400, Focal Length: 39 mm, Flash: Yes

This is a picture of my driveway, I took this photograph because it has all the fall colors and deep shadows in it. I like this picture because of the light and dark contrast. I love how the sun is shinning threw the tree tops.
Shutter Speed: 1/50,  Aperture: f/4.5, ISO: 200, Focal Length: 18 mm, Flash: None

In this photo, I have some green, red, and orange flowers sitting in a giant flower pot. I thought this was a good image for fall nature because the colors are bright and have more of a fall feel.
Shutter Speed: 1/60, Aperture: f/3.5, ISO: 400, Focal Length: 18 mm, Flash: Yes

This is my favorite place to take pictures every Fall. I love the bright trees around the bridge and the reflection off the water is perfect.
Shutter Speed: 1/60,  Aperture: f/5.6,  ISO: 400, Focal Length: 24 mm, Flash: Yes

The subject of this photograph is a bright red barn in the middle of lots of green, yellowish colored trees. I like this photo because of the colors and to me fall is bunch of reds, yellows or oranges and this picture portrays all of that.
Shutter Speed: 1/125, Aperture: f/5.6, ISO: 400, Focal Length: 55 mm, Flash: Yes
